This is an eight hour course which has been designed to provide practical, general-use knowledge on what mould is, the hazards of mould contamination, and the basic principles behind mould remediation techniques.
There is a significant increase in mold related litigation. As both the public and the workforce are becoming more knowledgeable on this subject, the provision of appropriate training is an integral part of all health and safety programs and is an essential component of due diligence in the workplace.

- Microbiology of moulds, where they come from, the various species of moulds, causes and rates of growth and toxicology concerns;
- Health and safety issues for occupants of mould infested areas;
- Effects of mould on property;
- Alberta Occupational Health and Safety regulations;
- Recognition and of moulds;
- Basic investigation and remediation techniques;
- Protective equipment and clothing used during abatement procedures;
- Mould prevention methods; and
- Air sampling and monitoring.
