Fork Lift Operator Awareness – Workplace Health and Safety This is a four -hour course designed to foster and develop a professional, willing and co-operative attitude towards safe loader operation. The course meets all of the requirements discussed in CSA Standards. The course is split into equal parts that include hands-on practical training and classroom instruction. Upon successful completion of the course, students will be able to apply the techniques of safe operation in their jobs as professional operators. They will also understand the benefits of consistently applying the techniques of safe operation to prevent collisions, cargo damage and the loss of a good driving record.

The following topics are covered utilizing theoretical classroom instruction and practical hands-on exercises:
  • Labour Canada Regulations and Occupational Health &
  • Safety Regulations; skills required for a person to become professional operator;
  • Inspection and safety checks; proper and safe refuelling;
  • Pallet safety;
  • Forklift manoeuvring techniques;
  • The "stability triangle";
  • Lifting, transporting and depositing a load;
  • Overview of safe operating principals;
  • Ramp and dock operations;
  • Loading dock and trailer safety; and
  • Forklift operator safety manual.
